The use of the wheel lock nut remover sockets is especially when the special key for locked nuts is not in the car when the tires are changed. In order to still be able to remove the wheel bolts, these special sockets are used. Proper use of the socket is to have at least three windings of thread of the socket gripping over the lock. In case any of the first three windings are already griping, the next bigger size of socket should be chosen. When the correct size of socket is chosen, it can unlock up to four bolts.
